It has been revealed that Yorkshire couples are quicker to tie the knot than other North West regions

According to North West hospitality group James' Places, Yorkshire brides allow less time between booking the venue and the big day than those in Lancashire.
Heidi Kettle, marketing manager for James’ Places, says: "We have definitely noticed a cross Pennine trend. The average length of an engagement for couples getting married at The Shireburn Arms venue in Hurst Green near Clitheroe, Lancashire is 12 to 18 months, but at Falcon Manor in Settle, North Yorkshire it’s nine to 12 months.
"There's no obvious reason why Yorkshire brides might be keener to get hitched. Our dedicated wedding planners based at each of our hotels advise that the perfect day can easily be organised in anything from six to eight months upwards. The main consideration is the availability of the venue and registrar or church."

A survey by Bridebook of 4,000 married couples revealed the average length of UK engagements was 20 months, with wedding days held an average 4.9 years after the couple's first date.
Heidi said: "Many couples like to give themselves plenty of time, maybe to save up for their big day or to give friends and relations plenty of notice. However, shorter timescales work well if a couple gets engaged at Christmas and wants to be married before the year is out.
“It could also be the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle effect as they were married six months after announcing their engagement."
