Complementing the photos and videos you will have of your special day, a painting by a live event artist provides a meaningful and special way of capturing your wedding. Live event artist, Lucy McLoughlin, is based in Hampshire but travels around the UK offering her unique works of arts at various events including festivals, proms, parties, corporate events and fashion shows. Here, she details why a live event artist could benefit your wedding day.

1. A piece of personalised fine art

Not many people can say they have a piece of personalised fine art hanging in their home, and what better occasion to splash out than for your wedding day? The artwork can be framed and hung on the wall as a lasting memento and can even become a family heirloom, passed down to generations for years to come.

“We just wanted to say how fabulous and unique it was having Lucy at our wedding. Everyone was completely enchanted by her work and it made our wedding feel extra special having Lucy capture beautiful images of our day. We will really treasure this artwork for years to come.” Phillipa Castell, bride pictured

2. A different way to document your day

The hard copy memories of your special day are one of the most important investments and a painting or several paintings offer a different perspective of your wedding day. In a digital world, where photos and videos can be visually altered to meet your requests, a painting will offer a unique reflection of your big day.

3. Fuse entertainment with documentation

Live artistry offers an aspect of entertainment that will keep guests amused for hours on end. Whether the live event artist will be painting throughout the day or during the wedding breakfast, guests will flock to see the artwork take shape.

Lucy explains: “In my experience people love watching an artist at work and they are quite fascinated by it. Children in particular always come and stand very close to me while I work and they love being painted. I often display the work as it develops and people get excited when they spot themselves. It's quite a flattering experience; you don't get painted every day.

4. Capture every emotion

While a moment may be lost in the blink of an eye, a live event artist will retain those missed moments and incorporate them in to their paintings as they unfold. This will serve to offer the most revealing interpretation of the day, capturing emotions in their rawest form.

5. Gifts for guests

If you’re looking for a unique gift for your guests that serves as a reminder of the day, then the artwork produced by the live event artist is the perfect gesture. The artwork can be scanned and made into thank you cards, or even a bespoke book; a wonderful way to show your appreciation to guests for sharing in your special day.
