What’s going to be big in the world of weddings this year? What are the key trends and what will brides be inspired by in 2016?
Brides and grooms can now look to the International Wedding Trend Report 2016 from the International Academy of Wedding and Event Planning for ideas.
With trends from worldwide contributors including lifestyle guru and party planner to the stars Colin Cowie, TLC’s Brides of Beverly Hills star Renée Strauss, celebrity cake designer Peggy Porschen, renowned luxury invitation designer Ceci Johnson, luxury wedding planner Bruce Russell and many more, couples can gain insight into what’s hot for the wedding scene for this year.
The International Wedding Trend Report covers key trends, styling and decor, colour combinations, themes, venues and locations, floral design, linen and accessories, stationery, cakes, catering, beverages, entertainment, photography, transport, LGBT celebrations, destination weddings, fashion, pop culture and interior design.
Popular wedding themes topping the list are festival, whimsical, fairytale, back to nature and vintage glam.
Dominant wedding colours, taken from the new Pantone report, include iced coffee, rose quartz, limpet shell, peach echo and snorkel blue, while ombre colour palettes are making headway. Jewel tones are also in for 2016. When it comes to complementary shades, sparkle, metallic and bling prevail, with rose gold, copper and yellow gold being the favourites among accent colours. However, silver isn’t getting a look in.
In terms of food and drink, we’ll see a move away from standard beverages and a push toward crafted drinks, and creative menus will be woven into the design of the overall day.
Bride will be reporting on more of the key trends from this report to keep you up-to-date with the inspiring new trends, so stay tuned for more 2016 idea-led features.
