After a 12 year restoration project, Boconnoc House now has a heartbeat again. Set amongst sweeping private parkland, the house adores to be filled with laughter, music, love and imagination. When you arrive for your wedding day you are handed the keys and it can be your own haven for as long as you like. We encourage you to treat the house and its neighbouring enclave of guest cottages and a private church as a blank canvas on which to paint the special day you have always envisaged, be it a subtle elegant affair or a whacky one-off wedding.

With accommodation for over 30 guests and the possibility of an additional yurt village, Boconnoc is a wedding venue you will want to make the most of for a few days before and after your big day. Once the preparations are complete, relax with a glass of champagne or Cornish cider and a barbecue by the lake, soak up the beauty of nature while wandering along one of the tracks through the woods or beside the streams that trickle down every valley. The only sounds to be heard at Boconnoc are bird song and water flowing, otherwise it is total peace. We can guarantee you will not want to leave.…..

Wedding Ceremony

The beautiful little church seats 250 people and nestles just above Boconnoc House with breathtaking views down to the lake. The small aisles of the church mean there is a cosy atmosphere, even if you are having a small, intimate wedding.

The architect Sir John Soane, designed the beautiful 18th century stable yard, one of the rooms of which can be used for your civil ceremony. All the furniture for the room is provided and the large oak doors can be swung open to let the sun pour in on your ceremony.

Outdoor drinks reception

There are a number of options for the perfect drinks reception. Just a few ideas include: drinks in a tucked away secret corner where palm trees frame a small waterfall and a magnificent marble bath, said to be that of Lady Hamilton is situated (best known as Lord Nelson’s mistress); the Dorothy Gardens near the church; or the lawns outside the house, with views across the park and to the lake in the valley. As the sun sets, your guests can walk down a path lit by flares to the house for your wedding feast.

Indoor Drinks Reception

The dramatic Drawing Room, with its ornate decorative plasterwork given a contemporary twist with modern art (optional), is perfect for a drinks reception and, if necessary, guests can overflow into the adjoining room as well. With beautiful high ceilings and huge windows, this room works equally well with a few people relaxing in front of the fire after dinner or when it is teeming with people.

Wedding Feast

With windows on three sides, the Garden Room room seats 110 guests and opens on to a large terrace, where you can have a roaring outdoor fire or a delicious hog roast, and a seating area for those who want to sit under the stars after dinner. If you have a larger number of guests, a marquee can be attached to the doors to cover the terrace so you can have 240 guests in total.
