A wedding wonderland at Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Exeter

14 Oct 2019

South West couples were spoilt for choice at the autumn edition of Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Exeter

With more than 120 regional suppliers, the sensational catwalk show and a jam-packed programme of musical entertainment, Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Exeter was filled with inspiration and ideas from start to finish.

Running from 12-13 October, the autumn event served to put couples in touch with the wedding businesses to bring their plans to life – from photographers and florists to caterers and cake makers.

Lisa Gatehouse, owner of Gatehouse Trailer Bar, said: "This was our first time exhibiting at Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Exeter and it was amazing. We have come away with several confirmed bookings in the diary for next year, and some serious leads. We will definitely be back!"

Emily Allen, sales assistant and seamstress at Sassi Holford Taunton, agreed: "All of us at Sassi Holford had a fantastic time at the Westpoint show. The variety was great to see and the response was outstanding from the brides that we spoke to. We have already started getting interest for appointments from brides, it will be a prosperous 2020."

Show-exclusive offers and competitions further served to entice visitors, including chances to win a wedding photography package, wedding ceremony, spa days and hotel stays. Complimentary copies of South West Bride magazine were handed out on arrival and the first 100 brides through the door even picked up a free goody bag.

Entertainment was non-stop from musical acts such as Joe Dostal, Exe Valley Strings, Double A & The Bay and Crown Entertainment. The catwalk show was also a highlight, with The Ivory Secret, Pirouette The Collection, Zebel Bespoke, Boutique at No 6, The Bridal Box, Sassi Holford, 14 & Sixpence, Jonathan Hawkes and John Lewis & Partners all taking to the stage with the latest and greatest wedding fashions.

Delicious catering was provided by Posh Nosh and flutes of fizz were readily available to toast the occasion in style.

Chantalle Major and Ian Hooper are avid supporters of the show, having started planning their May 2020 wedding a year ago. They said: "We have been to Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Exeter before and found our venue, photographer, band and magician here. We always watch the catwalk and love it, you've got to watch it for the men. We booked an appointment with Jonathan Hawkes after watching the catwalk and we spoke to Moss Bros.

"We booked Godminster cheese and we’re going to book with Hey Jules after the show," they continued. "We've recommended the show to other engaged couples we know. It's great to get ideas and to just speak to suppliers."

Save the date for the spring edition of Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Exeter, which returns from March 28-29 and promises another inspirational weekend of wedding planning. Visit bridetheweddingshow.co.uk for further information.
