With views overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake and the dramatic Skiddaw Mountain as its backdrop, Armathwaite Hall is an enchanting wedding venue that will capture your heart at first sight. A 17th century former stately home, Armathwaite Hall is set in 400 acres of grounds and sits on the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake, providing plenty of opportunities for country walks and cycle rides. Those opting for an extended stay can even venture to the Lake District Wildlife Park which is also situated on the estate.

Hotel residents are invited to use The Spa at Armathwaite Hall which houses a 16-metre infinity pool with indoor waterfall, thermal zone with hydrotherapy pool, sauna, aroma room and steam room, state of the art fitness suite and a large outdoor hot tub. There is also a dance studio, 10 treatment rooms, a tranquillity room, manicure and pedicure area, plus a private lounge. A bridal make-up package and pre-wedding Bridal Bootcamp sessions are also available.




Wedding rooms

There are four approved rooms for indoor civil ceremonies, catering to various sizes of wedding from large celebrations of up to 150 guests to more informal and intimate affairs. Couples can also exchange vows beneath the Woodland Gazebo or if you require a religious service, the charming nearby church of St. Begas provides the ideal setting.

There is also a choice of restaurants when it comes to the wedding breakfast, providing an array of options including buffets and sit-down meals to ensure your requirements are met.

Your evening party will be conducted in The Broadwater Suite which comes fully equipped with air conditioning, sound system, dance floor and bar. Floor to ceiling retractable windows running two lengths of the room allow you and your wedding guests to enjoy the great outdoors during your party.




Packages and pricing

A selection of all-inclusive seasonal packages await; choose from Summer Elegance, Winter Wedding Proposed and Christmas Wedding. Prices start from £70 per person for a Monday – Thursday wedding and £75 per person for a Friday to Saturday wedding (Winter Wedding Proposed). As well as complimentary room hire for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception, all packages include a red carpet arrival, the Boustead Drinks Package, three-course wedding breakfast and bedroom for the bride and groom on their wedding night. A bottle of house champagne with engraved Armathwaite Hall flutes are also gifted to the bride and groom by the venue as a memento of their special day. Sunday Wedding and luxurious tailor-made packages are also available.

Your Secret Wedding is a package created for couples who want to have a wedding day just for the two of them. For £950, you will receive ceremony room hire, bridal bouquet, groom’s buttonhole, pedestal arrangement for the ceremonial room, two witnesses if required (extra witnesses/guests charged at an additional rate), champagne and canapés, dinner served in the Lake View Restaurant, and bed and breakfast.




Armathwaite Hall has 46 bedrooms including three luxurious studio suites, two of which feature rooftop terraces. Exuding character and luxury, each room will ensure your wedding guests can relax and unwind in style. The newly appointed Spa rooms even feature plasma televisions above the baths and the ground floor rooms open out onto a private garden patio.
