Wedding Trends for 2012
We asked professional wedding planner, Dominique Douglas of Stylish Events, for her predictions for the hot trends for 2012 weddings.
Dominique says, “Most brides will still want an elegant wedding, but everyone has a different vision for what ‘elegant’ actually means. For me it means keeping things simple and classic.”
Dominique’s buzz words for 2012 weddings are “Vintage, Colour, Sleeves and Fun”
•Vintage - 30s and 40s style has been a growing trend over the last two years and she sees no reason for this not to continue at least one more year.
•Colour – We’ve seen a lot of white and green as the colour theme in the last two years, but colour is due for a comeback. Whether that’s with your flowers, cake, invitations and even your dress. Why not be bold and add a splash of pink, purple, red or perhaps even orange!
•Sleeves – this is Dominique’s biggest prediction, following the beautiful dress selected by the Duchess of Cambridge, she thinks we will see more and more brides choose wedding dresses with sleeves. Hooray!
•Fun - there is so much doom and gloom around in the media, so try to create a fun day with plenty of glamour for your guests. This doesn’t mean you have to spend more, just be creative.
And remember, make your wedding day unique by creating a day that is full of personal touches.
