Pastel colours, bling details and 'his and her' favours characterised this wedding in Windsor, overlooking the River Thames
How did you meet?
A mutual friend.
Tell us about the proposal.
The proposal took place at Coworth Park, Ascot in the Barn restaurant. It was the my birthday.
What was the theme for the day, and did you have a colour scheme?
Silver, light pinks and lilacs and lots of bling.
What venue did you choose and why did you choose it?
Sir Christopher Wren Hotel in Windsor, as we both originally come from Windsor and love the river setting.
When did you know when you’d found ‘the’ dress?
I tried on so many and bought the first Justin Alexander dress in February 2016, but kept thinking it was maybe not the right dress for the venue and wanted something a bit more special so started looking again…. I bought my second dress in November 2016 from Viva Bride.
What did the bridesmaids wear?
Silver and cream.

Tell us about your floral arrangements.
We wanted colours that complemented the theme and had lots of floral brooches in the bouquet.
Often the aspect that makes a wedding original to the couple is the detail – tell us about the details of the day.
We had small French-style picture frames for the ladies' favours. The men’s favours were lottery tickets. We also had a DIY sweet table.
How did you feel as you walked down the aisle?
What was your most memorable moment?
Definitely saying our vows.
What was the most challenging aspect of planning this wedding?
I don’t think I can think of anything that was challenging… I just loved organising it.
What was the most important investment for you?
I think the food and drink was very important as most people remember weddings by the quality of the food and drink. We wanted our guests to have nice food.
What song did you choose for your first dance, and why?
Michael Bublé - Somebody to Love. We love Michael Bublé and the words to the song mean something really special to us.
Did you have any evening entertainment?
Yes - a DJ and a singer who is a personal friend of the bride (they were excellent).
Tell us about your wedding cake.
We designed our own cake. It was three tiers and heart shaped. The tiers were lemon drizzle, Victoria sponge and chocolate. The topper was a feather topper.
If you could go back and change anything, what would it be?
We wouldn’t change a thing at all. It was perfect.
Where did you go on honeymoon?
We went St Nicholas Bay Resort in Crete. We went on the Tuesday after the wedding.
Do you have any advice for couples in the planning stages?
To start as soon as you can with the planning so you don't get stressed; get things done as you think of them to spread the cost. Enjoy the planning, it’s just as much fun as the day itself.
