26 May 2016

Travelodge has revealed that the average Briton, who is set to attend two weddings in 2016, can incur costs exceeding £800

In a study conducted by Travelodge, which compiled the views of 2,000 respondents, it has been revealed that the cost of attending an average of two weddings in 2016 is £815.64 per guest.

Nearly half (45%) of Britons will be attending two weddings this year and will spend approximately £407.83 on each wedding to purchase gifts, a new outfit, beauty treatments, accommodation and miscellaneous costs, such as drinks at the reception.

A quarter of Britons are even declining wedding invitations this year because they cannot afford the cost of being a guest.
