A wedding anniversary is a special occasion and getting the perfect gift for your loved one makes it all the more memorable. Whether you are celebrating your first wedding anniversary or your 60th, here are some gift ideas for your husband.
1st anniversary – paper
Celebrate your first anniversary together as husband and wife by gifting your spouse a scrapbook of your journey so far. You could include photos of your first date and wedding day as well as photos from the days between and beyond.
If your husband is quite the reader, purchase a special edition of his favourite book or a book that he has been eyeing to add to his collection.
Another great anniversary gift is a scratch off poster. There are various ones you can get for movies, books and television shows. You simply scratch off the foil of the image once you have seen or read it. This also gives you the opportunity to try and complete the poster and spend some quality time together long after your first anniversary.

2nd anniversary – cotton
Cotton is generally gifted for your second wedding anniversary. While clothes shopping is a great option for both you and your partner, you could also consider getting some novelty socks. There are some great finds on Etsy that will make your husband laugh, whether it’s a funny quote or saying. There are even options to have your face or beloved pet printed on them.
3rd anniversary – leather
After three years of marriage, leather is traditionally gifted to your spouse. You could splurge on a handsome watch with a leather strap, or give a meaningful gift with a personalised leather wallet. Have your husband’s initials printed, a special message or a favourite song or song lyric of his.
4th anniversary – flowers
Instead of getting flowers for your man, consider getting him a robust plant instead. A hardy plant would look wonderful on his office desk or in your living room. Alternatively, the green thumb in your life would also appreciate a personalised plant pot, which would make a wonderful addition to his seemingly ever-growing plant collection.
5th anniversary – wood
The fifth wedding anniversary gift should traditionally be made of wood. Look for a fancy wooden cheese platter that he can show off when he is entertaining, or an engraved hammer for the DIY handyman. A wooden keepsake for any trinkets or mementos would make a lovely gift, as would a beautifully engraved wooden photo frame.
10th anniversary – tin
Tin is often gifted for your 10th anniversary as husband and wife. If your husband loves a cup of tea, find a personalised tea tin he can keep forever. If you’re looking for a truly unique and personal gift, and you have the garden space for it, consider getting a personalised sundial. You could have your initials engraved or the date you married and place it proudly in your back garden.
25th anniversary – silver
After 25 years together, silver is best gifted to your significant other. To commemorate this special occasion, opt for matching wedding anniversary key rings, a beautiful decorative photo frame or engraved silver plate. You could splash out and buy some jewellery, like a silver ring or silver watch.
30th anniversary – pearls
For your pearl or 30th wedding anniversary, consider getting your husband some dashing pearl cufflinks to wear to your anniversary dinner. Keeping with the pearl theme, you could look for paintings and sculptural pieces that incorporate pearls, whether it is a painting of one or the sculpture is pearl in colour.
40th anniversary – ruby
A ruby anniversary marks 40 years together as a married couple. Your gift doesn’t necessarily have to include rubies, it could be a ruby-coloured personalised pillow with his name or both of your initials and wedding date on it, or a mahogany watch box.
A soft thick scarf would be perfect for staying warm in the winter, and a vintage wine would really hit the spot. If you're going down this route, look for a vintage that's the same as your wedding year.
50th anniversary – gold
A 50th wedding anniversary is an extraordinary occasion, so go all out with gold for his present. Perhaps a gold pocket watch for the dapper and sophisticated husband, or go simple with a box of gold-foiled chocolates to satisfy his sweet tooth. Alternatively, gold book ends would look right at home in his or your study.
60th anniversary – diamond
A special 60-year wedding anniversary is a cause for celebration and a gift made of diamonds. If your partner enjoys a tipple every now and then, opt for a luxurious diamond decanter or a diamond-shaped carafe. You could even get matching glasses too, or a charming glass engraved with a special message for your wedding anniversary.
