Celebrating the very best in UK heritage, on Thursday 3rd September 2020, the UK Heritage Awards honour the very best historic houses, gardens, museums and heritage sites in the UK.
To celebrate the very best of UK Heritage, the shortlisted venues from around the country as well as the esteemed judging panel joined together virtually to mark the special occasion, the judges included Paul Bridle (CEO of Excellence Squared Group Ltd and Director of Visit Heritage), Lizzie Glithero-West (Chief Executive at The Heritage Alliance), Annie Reilly (Manager at Heritage Open Days for the National Trust), Jeremy Musson (An Architectural Historian, author and consultant, plus former Country Life Architecture Editor) and Norman Hudson OBE (Chairman of the Historic Houses Foundation and consultant to the Heritage Sector).
In a double celebration twist, two venues scooped the award for Best Wedding Venue: Victoria Baths, Manchester and Goodwood, Chichester.
Victoria Baths houses five unique spaces for ceremonies that include the option to get married ‘in the deep end’ of one of the empty pools or against the superb stained glass backdrop of the Turkish Rest Room. Each couple has exclusive use of the entire building during their ceremony and reception and have the day before to set up and the day afterwards to take everything down.

The judges said; "These venues offer the highest quality whilst serving different needs Victoria Baths is quirky and different, you are free to do what you want with the space including hiring your own catering and entertainment. Re-using the space saved the baths – which would otherwise have been demolished. Goodwood offers a first-class luxury bespoke experience where you can sit back and be looked after in a superb heritage setting. There are excellent customer reviews and a stunning backdrop for photos."
