Middle Temple is still the home of the legal profession today and has been since it was built in the mid 15th century. The unique historical background is still very much in evidence as many of the original objects, artefacts and architecture have remained the same to this day. The hall itself is one of the finest examples of an Elizabethan Hall in the country, with its dramatic, double hammer beam roof and stunning stained glass windows. Surrounded by secluded gardens on the banks of the Thames, it is a peaceful, calm oasis hidden in the centre of the city.
