Set in the heart of East London, Queen Mary University of London is an extraordinary building. Steeped in history and heritage, the wedding venue is lavish and luxurious in every aspect to offer a sensational setting for your big day.


Served by excellent transport links including the A11 if making your way by car, Queen Mary University of London is conveniently located between Mile End and Stepney Green underground stations. It can also be easily accessed by Docklands Light Railway (DLR) with Bow Church and Limehouse stations within a mile’s radius, and London bus routes close by. Stansted, Heathrow, Gatwick and London City airports are all just a train ride away.





Situated in the Queens Building and overlooking the Queens’ Lawn and Victorian Clocktower, the Senior Common Room will set the stage for your wedding ceremony of up to 100 guests. The ceremony will be followed by a glass of bubbles and canapés in the Queens’ Foyer, courtyard or on the lawn in front of the Queens’ Clocktower. The Octagon will serve as the setting for your wedding reception, accommodating 100-220 guests for a sit-down dinner. As a Grade II listed venue, the Octagon is a truly stunning space and features shelves upon shelves of brightly coloured books, busts of eminent authors and the majestic domed ceiling – perfect for spell-binding photographic opportunities.





Team and catering

A dedicated team of professional and experienced staff strive to deliver a beautiful and relaxed wedding for each and every couple, providing the help and support you need to plan your big day to perfection. Catering is provided by a team of talented chefs who offer an extensive range of canapés to choose from for your post-ceremony celebration, as well as a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Your wedding breakfast will also be served with the utmost precision and delicacy; choose from a seated meal or hot fork buffet, with all dietary requirements catered for.



Packages and pricing

Packages start from £90 per person (minimum of 100 guests). Package One includes the following:

  • Dedicated wedding co-ordinator throughout your planning process
  • Hire of the Octagon (eight hours)
  • Menu tasting session for two
  • All table linen, crockery, glassware, cutlery, tables and chairs
  • A microphone for announcements and speeches
  • One glass of prosecco per person for the drinks reception
  • Two-course fork buffet
  • Unlimited still and sparkling water
  • House red and white wine (half a bottle per person)
  • One glass of prosecco per person for the toast
  • Security for the duration of the event
  • Cleaning of the venue

Reception Package Two is £115 per person and, in addition to the above, includes a three-course seated meal. Reception Package Three is the bespoke option; you tell the venue what you would like and the team will put a unique package together.

Reception Package Four is a dry hire package for Asian weddings. It is £5,000 for eight hours' room hire and you will liaise directly with the venue’s preferred supplier, Greenleaf, who will support you with all your catering needs.
