This royal seaside retreat was the beloved family home where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert raised their children away from the pressures of court life. Described by the Queen as "a little paradise", the opulent rooms, delightful formal gardens and private beach make Osborne the ideal destination wedding venue without leaving the UK.

Facilities and services

Civil ceremonies can take place in three of the magnificently decorated rooms inside the house as well as five outdoor locations. These include the Belvedere Terrace, where Queen Victoria used to take breakfast; the Walled Garden, used by Prince Albert as nursery for his flora and fauna; and the Queen's Alcove on the private beach, where Queen Victoria would often sketch or write as she watched her family enjoy playing in the sea. With three palatial rooms and five outdoor spaces to make your vows and have your reception, Osborne is available for exclusive dry hire seven days a week throughout the year. The dedicated Hospitality Events team will help you plan your big day from your initial show round to being there on the day as a point of contact.

Special features

The private beach is an ideal backdrop to any part of your day. Say your vows inside the Queen's Alcove where Victoria would sit and draw as her family played in the sea, or have your reception on the beach with magnificent views across the Solent. Inside this royal home, the lavishly decorated rooms reveal the royal couple's love of art and their family links to other European royalty. Most lavish of all is the Durbar room, which reflects Queen Victoria's pride in being Empress of India. The decoration is a true masterpiece topped by the fireplace Peacock.

But nothing can beat a sunset picture on the private beach looking out over the Solent.
