Couples can hold a humanist or celebrant ceremony or just reception drinks on the side lawn by the Canal lake or other outdoor areas. Wedding parties are then invited to continue their journey down to the marquee or tipi for the wedding breakfast.
The enchanting grade 2A Heritage grounds and three lakes of Busbridge Lakes provide a peaceful backdrop for the big day, featuring a main lawn that overlooks the Canal lake, which is occupied by giant carp. Formal lawns and magnificent old specimen trees – many listed as UK champion trees - encircle the lake, offering a scenic sense of seclusion. Adding to the serene environment the venue houses over 100 species of swans, geese and ducks, as well as cranes and peafowl which grace the lawns. The Gothic Boathouse, a Doric Temple and rustic stone bridge spanning the canal lake provide picture perfect photo opportunities for newlyweds to take advantage of.
A complimentary self-contained downstairs bedroom and bathroom inside the historic coach house is available for the bride to use on the day, as well as barn storage, which is useful for suppliers, as well as a room in the upper barn room, where bands, photographers and suppliers can change and chill out.
Holding only a few wedding receptions each year to ensure your day is not one of many, Busbridge Lakes offers the services of an event planner who will help you create your vision for the perfect day and be with you the day before and on your big day. The team at Busbridge Lakes treat each wedding individually and provide a list of accredited suppliers with shared values to make your day truly unique.
Typically, the marquee or tipi would be set up two days before the wedding reception, leaving the day before for the couple and their family and friends to add the final personal touches. On the day itself, the event planner will be on hand to ensure everything is ready and that the day runs as smoothly and seamlessly as possible.
Busbridge Lakes’ venue hire package allows for unlimited visits prior to the wedding with suppliers, family and friends (within reason and by pre-arrangement 9am - 5pm), including - if you wish - an engagement shoot visit.
There are a range of local hotels situated a short distance from Busbridge Lakes. These include The Manor House in Goldalming, The Stag on the River in Eashing and The Radisson Blue Edwardian in Guildford, which all offer discounts for wedding guests.
Testimonial:“We had an amazing time and we cannot thank you enough for helping to make the wedding as magical as it was. Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful family home and for being on top of all the little details. Everyone commented on the beauty of the garden and lake. You were so kind and helpful throughout the process of wedding planning and we're ever so grateful.
