AT the heart of every beautiful wedding there has to be a beautiful cake. From towering croquembouches filled with vanilla-scented crème patissiere, to a traditional white-iced fruit cake – there’s a confection for everyone.

If you’ve seen Michelle at wedding fairs, you’ll know her cakes not only look incredible, but they taste delicious too, having been made with the best French flour (for a lighter sponge), free-range eggs and Belgian chocolate.

Taste is very important to Michelle, who offers a vast range of choice for couples– and will even work with them to adapt a favourite family recipe or to include a flavour they particularly like.

A speciality is chocolate cakes, which are fast overtaking fruit cakes at weddings across the country.

Flavour options include:

Vanilla and caramel

Vanilla and raspberry

Vanilla and hazelnut





Fruit cake

Milk chocolate truffle

Dark chocolate truffle

Milk chocolate with Baileys

Dark chocolate with cognac

Chocolate and blackcurrant

Vanilla Patisserie is particularly known for its ruffle cakes, wonky cakes and contemporary sugarcraft.

Michelle goes that little step further with her personal approach by accommodating gluten, dairy and nut-free diets by making wedding guests with allergies their own small cakes at no extra cost.

She also liaises with every couple’s florist to find out the type of flowers being used on their day so she can order the same varieties to decorate the cake where appropriate. This has a particularly effect with chocolate cakes – the flowers looking stunning against the chocolate work.

Cakes of all shapes and sizes can be made, from a small single tier to many many tiers –although there’s also the option of having a cutting cake at just £30 for 20 dessert portions or 30 favour sized portions to keep costs down if there are a lot of guests and you’d prefer a smaller ‘main’ wedding cake.
