The brainchild of Carmen and Jennifer Thornton, the Trailer Made mobile bar is poised to offer weddings a rustic touch and a range of delicious drinks
A converted horsebox mobile bar, the Trailer Made concept was conceived when Carmen and Jennifer Thornton were planning their own wedding day.
Having encountered difficulty in finding a mobile bar that met their brief, the newlyweds set about finding their own horsebox trailer and in February 2018 stumbled upon the perfect horsebox to begin their business.
Carmen and Jennifer recall: "We bought the horsebox from a lovely couple in Morehampstead, Newton Abbot. We went with the intention of viewing a horsebox from another woman we'd found on Facebook, but on arrival she was nowhere to be found. When we knocked on a few doors we came across a fabulous couple who two minutes earlier had been talking to their grandson about finally selling their Ifor Williams horsebox.
"So, after a bit of persuasion, a trip to the farm and some negotiating, the horsebox was ours. It was meant to be," they continued. "It had been used as a horsebox for many years, but it was destined for something else."
Following weeks of laborious painting and sanding out in the snow of March 2018, Trailer Maid was born. Lovingly restored, the trailer now features a wooden bar emblazoned with elegant branding which serves a vast selection of wedding drinks including Pimm's and prosecco.
Trailer Maid covers Devon and Cornwall and can also provide bespoke drinks packages at the couple's request. For more information and pricing, visit www.trailermaidevents.co.uk.
