2. Ripley Castle

3. York Minster
This huge 800-year-old stunning gothic cathedral with stained glass and underground chambers will help you to escape the busy streets of York to its spiritual atmosphere. Climb the tower to gaze across striking views of the city and the Yorkshire countryside, followed by a quaint horse and cart trip around the city to make a memory. 5. Helmsley Castle

Located in the market town of Helmsley, this English Heritage site was built in the early 12th century and boats a fascinating story in addition to being located within the North York Moors National Park. Take an audio tour of the romantic ruin, or explore the hands on exhibition together.
