Top 5 tips on getting your lip colour to last on your wedding day

Want to know the top tricks for getting your lip colour to last on your wedding day? See Vicki's top 5 tips below!
Tip #1: When you apply your foundation add a little extra on top of your lips and blend well. Then lightly powder over your lips to set. With a lip pencil outline your natural lip line and colour your entire lip using the pencil. Add a matching lip colour, blot and re-apply. Remember the more matte the lipstick, the better the longevity.
Tip #2: Thinking of going a little bold and trying a red lip on your big day? Try using a lip stain! Vicki recommends Stila Lip and Cheek Stain in "Crush" or "Pomegranate." Be precise when you apply your colour as it does what it's supposed to do....stains! Once this product is set on your lips you'll need not concern yourself with reapplying for the entire day.
Tip #3: Prepare your lips for the big day! Every evening exfoliate your lips lightly using your toothbrush or a homemade lip exfoliator. Try combining equal parts of brown sugar, olive oil and honey. Work it onto your lips and gently scrub. Wash the mixture off your lips with a wet cloth, dry and apply your favourite lip balm. Remember the more supple your lips are the more beautiful your lip colour will look, not to mention it will help your lip stick last longer!
Tip #4: Is feathering a problem for you? This tip is ideal for those more mature brides who want to wear a bolder lip colour on their big day but are concerned with feathering. Stop your lipstick from feathering by adding a light layer of clear mascara around the outside of your lips after you have applied your colour.
Tip #5: Want to create that perfect clean lip look? Try applying a lip liner that matches your lipstick before and after you have applied your lip colour. Be sure and lightly blend the pencilled line prior to adding your lip colour so that the pencil line is not obvious. To help finish the look, apply the same lip pencil to your lip line after you have applied your lip colour. Then take a small concealer brush and add the tiniest amount of concealer to it and gently apply the concealer around the outter part of your lip line. This will require a very light touch! This trick will create perfect, clean gorgeous lips!!
