Tiara in honour of bride Kate
A ST ALBANS-based tiara designer is commemorating the Royal nuptials with a glittering tiara fit for a princess.
Ivana Lounova handmade the tiara which she has named Kate with over 300 Swarovski crystals, diamantes and sapphire-coloured crystals.
The designer, who runs her own store Guinevere which is located in the Village Arcade in St Albans, said the design for the tiara reflected the current interest customers were showing for sapphire and royal blue crystal colour shades.
Ivana said: “I really enjoyed designing this tiara and I hope it will bring inspiration to many local brides.”
The crystals are covered with special Aurora Borealis coating which helps it reflect the light and because of its unique design across the base, it’s actually a cross between a coronet and the more traditional tiara.
Ivana, who puts tiaras together in just a few hours, said this design was much bigger and therefore a little more expensive than her usual creations and had taken her an afternoon to complete.
She added: “All Herts Advertiser readers are welcome to come to our shop Guinevere to try this tiara on, we’ll be open on the day of the Royal Wedding and we don’t believe that you have to be of royal origin to feel like a princess.”
The Czech-born designer who has previously designed a tiara for Miss South Hertfordshire and had her designs feature in magazines, fashion shows and short films, says she is eager to see what Kate Middleton will be wearing and is quite sure that whatever Kate chooses it will have a huge influence on any future tiara designs.
