The Wiltshire wedding of Leane Taylor and Tim Stewart

The Wiltshire wedding of Leane Taylor and Tim Stewart

At Temple of Apollo, Stourhead, Warminster, Wiltshire followed by reception at The Spread Eagle Inn and Memorial Hall, Stourton

After a visit to Stourhead at a very young age, it was my childhood dream to get married at this magical location.

Our wedding was just what we had dreamed of - perfect weather and great company, lots of laughing, heaps of food and some surprises - it was awesome and we loved every minute.

I chose a fabulous David Bridal dress discovered at amazing boutique in East London and we had loads of help from members of the family including Tony, my brother who is a very creative stylist and certainly gave me and the bridesmaids hair the wow factor. Ingrid, Tim’s mother made the stunning wedding cake and umpteen puddings including a scrumptious Death by Chocolate cake and out of this world pavlovas. Tim’s son, Harvey joined Mark Webber as best men and they both brought the house down with their magnificent speeches. Harvey’s speech was also very touching and perhaps brought a tear to the eye too.

Blue and sparkle was the theme for the reception and Carol Howcutt, my aunt spent hours planning with meticulous attention to detail - she was definitely voted Wedding Planner of the Year after that.

On the day I felt as if I was stepping into another world as I walked across the magnificent Stourhead Gardens, up the path through the Grotto with its twinkling lights to the Temple of Apollo. My father and I led the way, closely followed by the bridesmaids. This was a dream come true and I could hardly believe it when I saw Tim waiting for me at the end of the aisle, surrounded by about 50 of our family and best friends. The ceremony was perfect, beautiful and emotional. After the ceremony we were showered with rose petals which produced a favourite photo. We celebrated with bubbly on the lawn with its fantastic views over looking the lake, before heading back (Tim and I just had to go via the bridge.... a must at Stourhead) to The Spread Eagle Inn and the Memorial Hall where we were joined by our evening guests.
