The unpredictability of the British weather is always a cause for concern at UK weddings, as it is the one thing couples can't control on the day. While many opt for spring and summer weddings, when the weather is usually better, there is no guarantee that it won't rain.
Analysing 89 years of Met Office data, plus-size fashion retailer Simply Be has revealed the wettest days on average for each season in 2022. They are:
- 29th March 2022 with 3.41mm of rainfall
- 15th August 2022 with 3.76mm of rainfall
- 11th November 2022 with 5.01mm of rainfall
- 7th December 2022 with 4.95mm of rainfall
These findings promote Simply Be's online wedding weather calculator, which allows couples to calculate the percentage chance of dry weather by selecting their wedding date and location. Couples can also find out the driest day in the calendar year for their region.
While your wedding will still go ahead come rain or shine, there is lots you can do to plan ahead for a wedding wash-out; take a look at these ten ways to deal with wet weather on your wedding day.
