Butterflies and flowers: the wedding of Amy and Jamie Reid in Bournemouth
02 Aug 2016
A touch of sparkle offered the finishing element to this Bournemouth wedding held at the Norfolk Royale Hotel
How did you meet?
We were neighbours; we lived next door to each other.
Tell us about the proposal.
The proposal took place during a weekend away in Weymouth. It was a romantic beach proposal.
What was the theme for the day, and did you have a colour scheme?
Our theme was butterflies and flowers, with a colour scheme of fuchsia pink and dark magenta.
What was your most memorable moment?
Walking down the aisle.
Where did you find inspiration for your decorations, and what did you decide on?
For inspiration, I used the internet and wedding magazines to give me ideas for colours and decoration. I also attended wedding fayres, which were a great help.
What was the most important investment for you?
The main investment for us was the venue.
If you could go back and change anything, what would it be?
Nothing; the day was perfect.
Where did you go on honeymoon?
Do you have any advice for brides and grooms-to-be?
Just enjoy every moment as it's over so quickly.
Where were the outfits from?
The bride's and bridesmaid dresses, as well as the suits, were all from Isobel's Bridal and Groom.
Tell us about the bridal accessories.
The veil was long with diamantes scattered over it and the headpiece matched with the sparkly veil. I used pearls and diamonds for my jewellery; it was a matching necklace, bracelet and earrings set. My shoes were silver and also sparkly.
