Taylor Swift made headlines recently as she resumed her role as bridesmaid, this time for best friend, Abigail Anderson. Looking mesmerising in maroon, Taylor turned heads as she carried the bride’s train, ever careful to not steal the spotlight with her A-list celebrity status.

The last time Taylor turned her hand to bridesmaid duties was at Britany Maack’s big day, where she wore a ravishing Reem Acra gown alongside 13 other maids. A popular choice for a bridesmaid among her ever-expanding squad, Taylor appears to possess all the qualities that her friends consider make the perfect maid, so that got us thinking about what those traits actually are….

We recently ran a poll in conjunction with Red7’s recent research to determine the top traits and found that reliability was considered of highest importance (51%), followed by trust (17%), loves to party (17%) and a good listener (16%). Here are a few more ideas when drawing up the short-list.

When you have selected your squad, there's the bridesmaid proposal to think about with creative ways to pop the question constantly emerging. And once the deal has been sealed, find out what characters lurk among your line-up by asking your besties to take the test in finding out what type of bridesmaid they are.

Have you assembled your bride tribe and if so, what were your most important qualities to consider? We would love to hear from you; email sarah.george@archant.co.uk.
