The Wedding Industry Awards 2015 – National Finals
The national winners of The Wedding Industry Awards 2015 were announced at a glittering awards ceremony
Tucked away behind Leicester Square, hidden underground in a cave of fabulous decadence, the country’s finest wedding suppliers gathered together at Café de Paris on January 15, for the national finals of The 2015 Wedding Industry Awards.
Over 400 guests descended on the capital city to celebrate the successes of the 2014 wedding season and find out who would be crowned the best in categories ranging from bridal accessories to wedding venues.
Throughout November, The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA) scoured England across seven regions for the best wedding suppliers available. After an initial voting period by clients from the past 12 months, an expert judging panel took into consideration voter scores and comments to draw up regional shortlists and subsequent winners.
The excitement of the regional winners as they made it to the national shortlist has been palpable as finalists took to social media and local press to announce their regional accolades. In the meantime, The Wedding Industry Awards judges began the process of examining each and every business in the national finals, assessing everything from a supplier’s brand image to the customer support they offered as part of their service.
As the only independent awards process that recognises excellence at both a regional and national level, TWIA are fastidious about their judging process, ensuring an impartial, fair and rigorous process for all involved. The Wedding Industry Awards are seen as kitemark of excellence and an example of prestige amongst wedding suppliers who, working in a largely unregulated industry, crave the endorsement of a credible body such as TWIA.
At Café De Paris, wedding photographers rubbed shoulders with dressmakers; venue stylists celebrated alongside transport suppliers; stationers took centre stage alongside musicians and magicians. With a prescribed dress code of ‘Dress to kill’, the industry turned out in their finest to enjoy an entirely glamorous evening.
With live entertainment including acapella vocal group The Buzztones and hybrid DJ group Organic Jam, the evening promised nothing short of a spectacular party. A champagne reception courtesy of sponsors Champagne Lanson allowed wedding suppliers to sample bespoke range White Label on arrival before letting their hair down in either of the two photobooths provided by Looklook.
With a packed house beneath the gilded chandelier of the Café, Sky News Sunrise presenter Isabel Webster joined awards founder Damian Bailey on stage to present awards in 27 categories. In addition to the overall winners, TWIA judging panel also awarded eight Highly Commended trophies to deserving companies who made the decision process particularly tough.
As the level of jubilant noise rose, so did the high spirits of all those in attendance. Celebration was certainly the order of the evening as suppliers who have worked so hard to make their clients’ dreams come true saw their efforts validated and endorsed.
Now in its fourth year, The Wedding Industry Awards have gone from strength to strength. The judging panel now boasts some of the most esteemed names in the wedding industry, lending kudos, experience and impartial objectivity to the decision making process.
Not only that, but nearly 1,500 companies entered The 2015 Wedding Industry Awards with over 30,000 couples voting for their suppliers, making this the most competitive year to date.
As wedding professionals strive to achieve the recognition of TWIA, they offer new levels of excellence to their clients, making the awards database of shortlisted and winning companies a vital resource for newly engaged couples planning their weddings in 2015, 2016 and beyond. With so many suppliers to choose from, TWIA offers a quick and easy way to recognise professional, passionate wedding businesses who are more than qualified to work on the most important day of your life.
At the end of the awards, every entrant is given access to their voter scores and anonymous comments left by their couples. What this offers wedding suppliers is truly unbiased feedback on which they can build their businesses – from their strengths that won their customers over to any areas in which they can improve in the future. Whilst the trophies are of course the main incentive for taking part, TWIA entrants often claim that it is these comments that make taking part in the process so worthwhile.
You can view full details of all National Winners and Highly Commended companies online, whilst TWIA also offers you the chance to see the Regional Winners and to find wedding suppliers in your local area.
Entries for 2016 open in May 2015, offering any wedding supplier the opportunity to take part and show the world how seriously they take their role in the wedding industry.
