The suit Mike Tindall will be sporting in Royal Wedding 2!

Mike Tindall will be kicking off married life in fine style in a classic morning suit, when he claims his bride – Zara Phillips – in the UK’s second Royal Wedding of the year.

London bespoke tailors, Cad & the Dandy, this week revealed that they have been commissioned to dress the England rugby star for his wedding to the daughter of Princess Anne, Zara Phillips, at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh on Saturday, July 30.

“It is going to be an elegant affair just like William and Kate’s wedding earlier this year,” said James Sleater, the former banker who, with his partner Ian Meiers, turned his hand to making traditional tailoring trendy. Cad & the Dandy operate salons in Savile Row, Canary Wharf and the City, turning out made-to-measure suits, shirts and overcoats.

“We’ll make sure Mike cuts a dashing figure in front of all his new Royal relations.”

The wedding will be attended by the Queen and Prince Philip, as well as Prince William and his new wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, along with numerous other Royals.

Landing a commission for a Royal wedding is an exceptional coup for the partners, who are undaunted by the task of fitting out the male attendants for the big day, from the fathers of the bride and groom and the groom himself, to the ushers.

“The wedding party are all wearing a classic morning suit made from a black barathea cloth made in Huddersfield,” said Mr Sleater. “The trousers will have a slightly lighter stripe than is traditional, making them a little more up to date. Waistcoats will either be buff coloured or dove grey – a final decision has yet to be taken dependent on the colour chosen for the bridesmaids dresses. Shoes will be classic Oxfords.”
