The National Gallery opens its doors to weddings for 2018
30 Nov 2017
The National Gallery in London is now set to accommodate weddings, offering an unforgettable reception venue in the heart of the capital city
Situated in London's Trafalgar Square, The National Gallery has announced that weddings and private parties can now make use of its stunning spaces.
Home to masterpieces including Van Gogh’s Sunflowers and Turner’s The Fighting Temeraire, The National Gallery welcomed its first bride and groom for a wedding reception in summer 2017. Choosing The National Gallery for their personal love of art, the couple held their wedding breakfast in the Gallery’s glass-domed Barry Rooms.
Now, for a limited time in 2018, all couples are offered the opportunity to host their wedding reception and breakfast in one of London's finest buildings and with 12 rooms to choose from, couples are spoilt for choice. From the grand Central Hall with its elevated glass rooftop to the breath-taking Yves Saint Laurent Room for smaller guest lists, the venue has it all. Recommended suppliers are also available for couples to consider.
Kate Rolfe, head of events at The National Gallery, says: “Wedding receptions are brand new for us and we’re really excited to see our first couples coming to celebrate here. I think what makes the Gallery especially attractive for wedding receptions and private parties is the location – your guests arrive directly from Trafalgar Square, you can have photos and drinks on the Portico looking out over Nelson’s column and Big Ben, then after all the dinner and dancing it‘s also easy for everyone to travel home."
