The Big Day: 4 Ways to Make a Big Impact
From wedding planners, Collection 26
Your wedding day will be the one of your most treasured memories. You will spend months planning it, hours dreaming about it and years reliving it. Of course you’ll want to make sure it’s a memorable time for your guests too, so we’ve put together a few ideas to help you create a big impact and some long lasting memories.
First Impressions
For us as wedding planners, details are everything. They are what sets aside a professionally planned wedding from the self-planned one. Our philosophy at Collection 26 is to treat each wedding as a journey, starting from the minute guests arrive to the moment they leave.
Venue entrances and welcome areas are often not given the creative attention they need. As they are the first impression your wedding makes, we always like to ensure they are equally as attractive as all other parts of the venue.
Appeal to the senses and play with what your guests will see, smell and hear on arrival. Heavenly scented candles and low acoustic music sets a perfect ambient tone which sets off the celebrations perfectly.

Use an eclectic range of mason jars, lanterns and tea candles to light the way for guests, guiding them to the next stage of the wedding, under a beautiful enchanting glow.
Feature Floristry
Floristry has the power to transform an ordinary space into something spectacular. It’s important to choose floristry that complements the features of your wedding venue. Our event planners will always choose longer stemmed flowers when there is an abundance of space and high ceilings. Long stemmed spray roses together with blossom twigs are an ideal choice for this and look classic, bold statement.

An extension of the popular hanging floral backdrop trend, suspended floral arrangements are set to become a staple for weddings in 2015. Perfect for freeing up some extra table space, suspended flowers make an impressive and unique feature.
Our planners love taking the concept one step further and incorporating floral arrangements with elegant crystal chandeliers for the ultimate romantic ambience.

An Intimate Ballroom
When it comes to dressing large venues, lighting and drapery are key tools used to establish an ambient and inviting atmosphere. Choose luxury fabrics such as silk and organza in light, neutral tones to enhance entrances and feature walls. We often use drapery to lower ceilings which not only hides any unsightly features, but also creates a more intimate and warm atmosphere.

Immersive Entertainment
Concept weddings are one of the best ways to make a big impact and fully engage your guests on the big day. A perfect option for couples who are keen to do something a little less traditional, bespoke weddings allow a higher degree of creativity and personality.
Earlier this year our design team produced a bespoke wedding based on the idea of an English fairground. Complete with rides, popcorn stands, candy floss and ginger beer stations the range of activities and fun catering options allowed guests to engage and interact with each other probably more than if they had been at more formal reception.
