Titled ‘Serendipity’, Temperley London’s latest bridal collection features romantic and intricate floral designs.
After two years of uncertainty surrounding weddings and celebrations, the Temperley London bride is embracing opulence. This is executed, of course, with the exquisite craftsmanship for which Temperley London is renowned. The range includes cherry blossoms, dahlias, rhododendrons, daffodils and camellias picked out in embroidery thread. Sequins and beading flourish across the freshly picked new season gowns.
The ‘Delaney’ gown is a showpiece for sensational embroidery and beadwork. Latticework and vines embrace the body and wind into the skirt, where full tulle godets create an illusion of lightness. The key floral motif here is the daffodil. In the Victorian language of flowers, it symbolises renewal and new beginnings.
Simpler but no less stunning is the ‘Iona’ dress. A play on the dinner dress, ‘Iona’ features an intricately embellished organza bib, combining stitchwork, pearl beading, iridescent crystals, alabaster clasps, bugle beading and crystal buttons in the depiction of stylised rhododendrons.
The freshness of true love animates ‘Estelle’ (pictured right of main image), a lighter-than-air corseted tulle design. Intricate petal-pink camellias and sequins play across illusion tulle in the classic, full-skirted 1950s-inspired silhouette. This is a dress made to wear for a twirl across a dance floor in the arms of your one true love, now and forever.
For untrammelled romance, there’s ‘Lacey’ (pictured left of main image), a corseted bustier dress in French cotton lace. With a sheer bodice, off-the-shoulder straps and a full panelled skirt, ‘Lacey’ is sweetness and light, with a modern edge.
The new ‘Marianna’ dress nods to the 1930s glamour with its long, languid cut and crossover draped halter neckline, fit for a silver-screen siren. The Italian crepe-backed satin pours across the body before flaring into a dramatic train, while Art Deco-style crystal embellishments twinkle from the collar and the straps that race down the exposed back.
The store is open from Monday to Saturday, 10am to to 6pm by appointment only. To schedule a consultation, contact Monica Dumitru at bridal@temperleylondon.com.
