The stunning new collection was unveiled at the historical location of the HM Tower of London at the end of last month. The gowns were previewed to buyers and press in an intimate show in the Fusilier’s Building of the historic tower.
Inspired by the golden ages of glamour, Suzanne Neville have taken the best parts of a by-gone era and turned them into modern day bridal gowns, fit for a style conscious screen goddess.
The new collection includes elegant draping, luxurious satin and crepe fabrics and beautiful necklines and sleeve details. Inspired by the classical, silver screen greats such as Greta Garbo, Marlene Deitrich, and Sophia Loren, who have influenced the names of the 1930’s and 40’s style gowns that are an integral part of the overall collection.
Pleated silk organza, silk chiffon and french lace feature heavily throughout. Many of the gowns have interesting sleeve and neckline detail as more and more brides move away from the popular strapless styles of the past few years. There is a strong floaty feel throughout, which works beautifully alongside the structured bodices that Suzanne is most know for.
Gowns such as the ‘Hepburn’ and ‘Sophia’ feature beautifully cut, cap sleeve French lace jackets, that appear to be part of the dress when worn together and offer a strapless alternative for the evening. The ‘Lana’ gives a modern take on 60’s glamour, with a sheer, high neckline and long ruched sleeves. The ‘Loren is a stunning fluid gown in meters of pleated silk organza with a hand beaded attached belt.
Beautiful full layered skirts with perfectly fitted bodices give a romantic, movie star glamour to the collection, as seen with ‘Gracie’ and ‘Becall’. The hand embroidery and beading on gowns such as ‘Broadway Belle’ was show stopping.
