We decided to marry at Holy Trinity Church, because it’s special to both of us – it’s around the corner from where we live and my parents got married there 29 years ago.

Craig wanted top hat and tails and as I love the vintage style, we decided to put a slight vintage twist on our wedding. Hollin Hall was the perfect venue. As soon as we stepped through the doors and saw the beautiful staircase and the drawing room, we knew it was the one for us.

I had an idea of the style of dress I wanted, however this soon changed once I started trying on dresses at 7th Heaven. I never thought I would go for a big gown. I always imagined a fitted dress with sleeves and a touch of lace. But when I put this on I felt amazing in it. It was the one. The bridesmaids wore fresh, golden blonde chiffon dresses and the men wore three-piece grey suits with Craig adding a cream, vintage waistcoat. I designed and made all the stationery, with help from Craig and my mum, making bows and sticking on jewels.

The morning of the wedding arrived. I was up at 6am and surprisingly calm all morning. I was so excited when we got to church as I was about to marry my best friend.

We chose a beautiful Beauford car in blue and cream and were lucky enough to have the roof down. A bottle of bubbly was opened and we had a lovely, calm drive to our venue.

After the speeches (my dad’s was said to be the best father-of-the-bride speech guests had heard), everyone was able to sit outside in the sunshine while we waited for the evening reception. We booked a swing singer, James Robinson, who was amazing.

He sang How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You for our first dance and made the end of our perfect day, even more special.
