Suits you – tips for dressing the groom
Carole Wilding from Suit An Booted answers three groom’s questions on finding their perfect suit
What should I look for when choosing my suit?
Make sure the shop has a good choice of suits in all styles and colours with accessories. Look for something different so your wedding is different to everyone elses and make sure you can have the suit fitted properly at least a week before the wedding.
When should I order/buy my suit?
This is as important as when your fiancée is ordering her dress. It can be done a year in advance, six months before or a week before – but you want to look your best so the earlier it's done the better. The hire industry for menswear is bigger then for dresses - you only have one bride per wedding, but the groom, bestman and other male members of the bridal party can total anything from one to fifteen or more.
Should I match with the bride and her bridesmaids?
Our staff will help with this. Always remember to bring a colour swatch in case the bride has a special colour she would like to incorporate with the suits.
We like to think the service we offer at Suit An Booted, is different to anywhere else, with our attention to detail. The groom and his men always have a fitting at least 8/9 days before the wedding date to make sure everything is perfect.
When fitting suits we always give a demonstration of how to tie the ties or cravats and at the same time the guys can run through any aspect they are not sure about.
