AmaZing Venues offers couples the opportunity to be different with spectacular venues located across the UK, including Solent Forts – three structures surrounded by waves of love that are guaranteed to make your wedding stand out from the crowd.

Here Mark Watts, general manager of the AmaZing Venues forts, explains why you should choose one of their locations.

How many weddings are held at the forts each year?
Nineteen in 2014 and 15, so far, in 2015.

Which forts are available, and where are they located?
AmaZing Venues owns three forts, two of which are fully operational and all of them are located just off the coast of Portsmouth out in the Solent. Spitbank Fort is slightly smaller than No Man’s Fort, with eight bedrooms, sleeping a total of 16 people, and is perfect for any exclusive event you have planned. No Man’s Fort has 23 bedrooms, sleeping 46. Both forts also both fully licensed for weddings.

How are guests transported?
We have our own boat which takes you to and from either fort from the Solent Forts Port Office at Gunwharf Quays.

How will they leave – will it have to be together?
The guests can leave using our boat in the evening back to the Solent Forts port office. Not all guests would have to leave together; extra transfers could be implemented upon request.

Will the weather affect the logistics of having a wedding on a fort?
Due to the exposed nature of the forts out in the Solent, weather can sometimes interfere with transport to and from the fort. We always keep a keen eye on the weather and if in case of extremely bad weather we would always work very hard to get you there safely, or at the next nearest possible date.

There must be great photo opportunities – are we allowed free rein of the location?
Yes definitely, the fort would be completely yours to have free rein to explore and take full advantage of the spectacular views.

Is there the opportunity to stay on the fort overnight?
Spitbank Fort has eight bedrooms with king-size beds: six Commodore suites (one with a waterbed), and two Admiral suites.

No Man’s Fort has 22 bedrooms with king-size beds: nine executive bedrooms, 13 junior suites, one superior suite and one penthouse suite.

How long do you hire the fort for, and do couples get it to themselves?
A two-night minimum on Spitbank, arrive 4pm on first night, leave at 10am on morning. One night on No Man’s Fort, 11.30am arrival and 10am departure. The venues are ideal for exclusive-use events.
