CATHEDRAL CARS, based in Romsey and Portswood, Southampton, has been voted ‘Best Wedding Transport Supplier’ for the London & South East region at the prestigious 2014 Wedding Industry Awards.

The awards, founded by events specialists Damian & Anna Bailey, are held annually to recognise and reward excellence in the wedding industry.

Brian Bennett, owner of Cathedral Cars, says “I was extremely surprised to receive an email advising we had been nominated by Rachel and Adam Hardwick, of Chandlers Ford, following their wedding at Winchester Guildhall on 1st June 2013. I didn’t even know the awards existed and Rachel and Adam didn’t tell us they had nominated us...it came as a complete, but very pleasant, shock!”

The awards are held throughout England, divided into seven different regions. The London & South East region is easily the largest in the competition and covers the Greater London area, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey plus East & West Sussex.

Couples married between November 2012 and October 2013 were allowed to vote and Cathedral Cars received a total of 44 votes from 56 eligible couples.

“We are delighted to have won our local region thanks to our many happy couples that took the time and effort to vote for us” says Brian. “It is very humbling to have beaten other, more established, wedding transport companies as we’re only in our second year of operation. It’s a great testament to our attention to detail and unbeatable customer service – something we’re extremely proud of.”

Cathedral Cars, who operate throughout Hampshire and the New Forest, has now been shortlisted for the national final and go up against other regional winners to determine the overall winner for their category, to be announced at the National Awards Ceremony at the Bloomsbury Ballrooms in London on 15th January 2014.

“Naturally, it would be a huge honour to win the National Award, but I’m more focused on our local area and making sure that future couples continue to receive our Award winning service” says Brian. “We exhibit at a number of Wedding Fairs throughout the area where couples can come along to see our cars and have a chat about their individual requirements and we hope that this award proves to them that we offer a first class service at affordable prices. Every wedding is different and we firmly believe it is our responsibility to help make their special day the one they so rightly deserve!”

Cathedral Cars have a stunning ivory & black vintage 1935 Rolls Royce 20/25 which was first owned by Lady Boles, the wife of Sir Dennis Boles CBE, a very prominent MP for Somerset; a seven-seat ivory Daimler DS420 which is very popular for carrying Mum & Bridesmaids plus the only ivory convertible Daimler Landaulette in the UK with built-in twin confetti cannons – allowing a unique photo opportunity Brides simply won’t find anywhere else!
