Something Old, Something New Wedding Fayre

Wedding fayre and new wedding venue launch raises more than £3,500 for North Devon hospice

Sunday February 1 saw the ‘Something Old, Something New’ Wedding Fayre take place at The Milky Way Adventure Park near Clovelly. The event was also the official launch of The Old Barn, a gorgeous 17th century farm building within the grounds of the Milky Way that has been transformed into a chic wedding venue.

The fayre and Old Barn launch welcomed more than 600 visitors and raised a fantastic £3722.50 for the North Devon Hospice.

Around 55 exhibitors were present at the event, and many came away looking forward to the next one.  Marc Churchill of North Devon Party Celebrations said, “It was the best fayre we have ever done. A lot of these wedding fayres tend to be the same crowd, but we saw a lot of new faces from both the exhibitor and bride’s point of view. It was really well organised and I hope there will be more to come.” He continued, “The fact they raised so much money for the North Devon Hospice too is an added bonus.’’

Tara Stanbury from The Milky Way and Old Barn said, “We are thrilled the event has been such a huge success for exhibitors and the hospice. We would like to say a big thank you to Lyn from Barefoot Nails and Beauty who did a fantastic job organising the fayre.”

For nearly everyone present it was the first opportunity to see the Old Barn venue, and for Barnstaple couple Charli Collier and Lewis Chappell it was love at first sight, as they became one of the first couples to book The Old Barn for their big day in September 2016.

Charli said "When we went to the wedding fayre at The Old Barn we knew instantly that we wanted to book. This venue really stands out. It's unique, interesting and very chic. We can't wait to get married here."

Tara said, “We have been bowled over by the level of interest in The Old Barn and are very excited to be hosting our first wedding celebrations in just a few months time!”

Set in the unspoilt North Devon countryside, with original solid oak beams, stone work exterior and internal cob walls, The Old Barn is a picturesque setting for weddings and events.
