Hot on the heels of the Steampunk shoot we published in the 2015 issue of Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire Bride, photographer Lisa Gigante has been at it again with this Mexican Day of the Dead bridal shoot.
Lisa Gigante tells Bride editor, Amanda Griffiths, how and why she created the alternative wedding style, inspired by Mexican Day of the Dead.

Photographer Lisa Gigante loves breaking the mould. In November we published pictures from a Steampunk themed fashion shoot for the alternative bride in Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire Bride – which went down a storm with brides looking for something a bit more edgy for their big day.
Now Lisa, who married last year in her own Halloween-Tim Burton-Victorian- Gothic-autumn-inspired wedding, has created her latest shoot titled, Mexican Day of the Dead.
“After the response from the Steampunk shoot, I thought I’d once again break the mould and have a bit of fun with my next bridal shoot,” says Lisa, who is based in Hampshire. “I wanted the shoot to be bridal, but with the colours of the Mexican Dia de los Muertos theme.
“I love the colours, the flowers and the look of the face painting – it’s amazing and the suppliers I asked were very excited to be involved – the lady that supplied the silk flower head pieces was thrilled to be able to make something a bit 'different' for a change.
“I used dresses from David Western Bridal in Portsmouth, who I used in the last shoot. He also made my wedding dress (featured on one of our models). I purely wanted to show another side of bridal, have a bit of fun and also show some different colours outside of the usual ivories and creams.”
