The annual Guild of Photographers awards dinner saw local portrait and wedding photographer, Liz Greenhalgh, of Brookfield Way, Bury picking up two prestigious awards.
Liz was awarded The Photographers Bar. The Guild Of Photographers describe The Bar as being, ‘awarded to very few photographers who have successfully had images assessed by the Guild over the course of a year, and attained a score equating to an award for each image entered, thereby evidencing an exceptional level of professional skill and consistency’. Around 1,000 images a month are submitted to The Guild with less than 10% achieving any award or recognition.
This was followed by Liz being placed 7th nationally among photographers from the UK and Ireland in the multi genre category of Photographer of the Year.
Liz says, “I’m completely overwhelmed by these awards. I went to the awards dinner not thinking I’d win anything and to be awarded a top ten place and a bar is beyond my wildest imagination. I would like to express my gratitude to The Guild but more importantly to all my clients as without them putting their faith in me to capture their special occasion I wouldn’t have images to submit.”
