1. Lego
While wedding proceedings are underway it’s important children feel part of your special day. Getting them engaged in Lego is a fun way to help them build, create and dismantle their own figures, buildings and more with just a few pots crammed with inexpensive blocks.

2. Colouring sets
Favour boxes filled with colouring activities will entertain creative youngsters during a long wedding day. Try ordering The Big Day Colouring Set from Wrapped by Alice on Etsy, which comes in a tasteful Kraft presentation box.

Designed for children aged from three to six years, the set includes a pack of eight Crayola crayons, heart stickers, a big day detective activity, colour-me-in congratulations card for the couple, bride and groom masquerade masks, bride and groom spot the difference, a colour-me-in bride and groom and a big day wedding maze. They’ll stay amused for hours with all that bundled into a box.

3. Dressing-up kits

With photobooths and giant Instagram-style frames proving popular with fun-loving guests at quirky weddings, a bag of props is a brilliant addition. Aspiring shipmates will love pulling funny faces with this handmade Pirate Hat and Bushy Beard Dressing Up Set from Made from 100 per cent organic lamb’s wool and fair trade materials.

4. Bubbles

If you’ve opted to go without confetti during wedding celebrations, bubbles are a pretty alternative that make for interesting pictures. The bonus is that children will have fun blowing bubbles long after you’ve walked out of the church. Pop them in a goody bag full of treats for young guests.

5. Twister

For outdoor summer weddings, a giant game of Twister could be a fun event that children and grown ups can enjoy together. The Great Gift Company offer a Twister picnic blanket measuring 170 cm by 140cm when open, so little guests can challenge each other to a game when the sun is shining.

6. Balloon modelling kit

Help little ones avoid causing havoc on the day with a balloon modelling kit. This kit from Rose and Grey is for children over the age of six and includes a hand pump, 32 modelling balloons and eye stickers for colourful inflated animals.
