Six unique ways to ask your besties to be bridesmaids

27 Apr 2017

You want to ask your closest friends to be your bridesmaids, but you want to make it special. Here are six ideas for unique bridesmaid proposals

They’ve been with you through thick and thin, so it’s only natural that you’ll want your sisters and best friends with you on your wedding day. Bridesmaids are some of the most important members of the wedding party: they’ll help you get ready in the morning (with both getting dressed and calming those nerves), and they’ll be close at hand throughout the day in case you need anything. But how exactly should you go about asking the most important women in your life to be your bridesmaids? Here are six unique ways to pop the question.

Pamper them with a bridesmaid box

There’s nothing more exciting than receiving a mysterious package in the post. Make it even more thrilling by sending your bride tribe individual boxes filled with their favourite goodies. You could include make-up, chocolate, beauty products, and maybe even a cheeky mini bottle of wine. Make sure to add a cute card or note asking them that important question: ‘will you be my bridesmaid?’

Pop the question with personalised jewellery

Personalised jewellery is multifunctional. Not only can you use it to ask your female friends to be your bridesmaids, they can also wear the jewellery on the day to make your wedding even more special. There are lots of choices out there for personalised jewellery, including necklaces, bracelets, earrings – or even their very own sparkly ring.

Keep it simple with a beautiful card

Some people don’t like big gestures or statements, so keep it simple with a lovely card that they can treasure forever. It’s simple, to the point, and is great for brides with a limited budget. To make it even more personal, you can even custom-make your own cards and print them off using an online print company.

Reminisce with a scrapbook

You’ve been best friends for years, and now she’s going to be with you as you venture into the next chapter of your life. What better way to remind her of the amazing times you’ve had together than with a scrapbook full of your memories together? Fill it with photographs, the notes you used to send during school lessons, a handwritten playlist of all your favourite songs, and more. You could even leave a blank space at the back for 'the day you were my bridesmaid' for her to find.

Drop a hint with a bridesmaid survival kit

Load a bag or box full of helpful items to help her along the wedding journey, from planning to the hen party and the day itself. It’ll be something she can keep close by from now until the wedding day, and is both practical and personal.

A personalised label on their favourite drinks

There’s nothing quite like a girly evening in with a few bottles of bubbly or beer. Surprise your bridesmaids by inviting them round and handing out bottles of their favourite beverage with customised labels one each one. They can keep the bottle as a souvenir, and you can have an awesome night together reminiscing, chatting, and planning.
