1. Lovely Lace Overlay

If your wedding gown is draped with delicate lace detailing, why not match the style with your bridesmaid dresses? Classic and chic, lace will look timeless in your wedding photographs. This Phase Eight dress, available in coral or a soft petal pink, has a detachable lace overlay, full lining, adjustable straps, cap sleeves and flattering waist pleats.

2. Bold Hues

Pastel palettes aren’t for every couple. Add a splash of colour to your bridal party with a deep shade that can be easily intertwined with the wedding theme by popping some rich wine-coloured blooms into floral arrangements. Monsoon offers its floor-length Maisie dress with sweetheart bodice, hand-embellished neckline and a cutaway back for luxe styling.

Floaty full skirts

Full and feminine, voluminous net skirted dresses will give bridesmaids their own little taste of ‘50s retro glamour. They can look gorgeous if the bride also opts for a full skirted tulle design for her gown. Teaming lightweight chiffon with a detachable tie waist and a floaty net skirt, ASOS has pulled out all the stops with its Prom Dress in Rose and Forget Me Not Print. Printed, delicate and just plain lovely.

4. Feminine Cinched Waists

A belt or waist tie can do wonders for the female form, so it makes sense to feature something similar for your bridesmaid dresses. Tie your theme together with a sparkling ornamental belt, or simple ribbon fastening round the waist. This can be added to custom-made dresses or try this dusty mint dress with this woven fabric, detachable embellished waist tie and V-back.

5. Metallic Embellishment

Sparkling weddings are glitzing up what was once a traditional environment full of muted colours. We reported on the fabulously sequinned big day of Jayne and Andy Hobbs here which featured shimmering gold bridesmaid dresses. If you can’t resist a little metallic sheen, this Jenny Packham dress could look stunning on bridesmaids with its graceful dipped hem and hand embellishment. Available in light pink or pale grey.

6. Short and sweet

Not all bridesmaid dresses need to traipse along the ground to be beautiful. A tea-length dress can be stunning in bridal pictures. This Cordelia dress with falling fabric drapery is the perfect example.
