Six small details to remember before your big day
20 Sep 2017
While you don’t want to spend the days leading up to your wedding stressing out, there are a few things that will need to be left until the last minute
There are so many things to organise for a wedding that it can be easy to forget one or two of the smaller details. Follow this checklist to ensure you don’t miss anything important in the days running up to your big day.
Final beauty touches
You want to look perfect on your wedding day, and that means paying attention to the small beauty details you ignore on a daily basis. Get your eyebrows threaded, have a manicure, schedule some time for hair removal, and step up your facial cleansing routine.
Hire a cleaner
If you’re staying away from home the night of your wedding, or are planning on going on honeymoon immediately afterwards, hire a cleaner to spruce up your home while you’re away. Appoint a parent or friend to let them in, and rest easy knowing you’ll be returning to a fresh house when it’s all over.
Make an emergency kit
You may have planned your wedding as thoroughly as you can, but there are always things that can and will go wrong. Pack your day-of bag full of the essentials such as painkillers, plasters, a needle and thread, deodorant, and mints. You don’t want to be caught out on the day.
Check in with your suppliers
In the weeks and days leading up to your wedding, make sure to check that your suppliers know where and when they are due to be delivering your goods. Not only will it help put you at ease, it will also mean that if any of your vendors have disappeared or are ill you have ample time to replace them.
Brief your maid of honour and ushers
Your wedding day will be a rush of attention, emotions, photographs, and more. Ensure that your ushers and maid of honour know exactly what roles they will be playing, and where they need to be at what time. Figure out who has the loudest voice, and give them your shot list so they can arrange your friends and family when the time comes.
Check your suitcase
Pack your suitcase a week in advance, and check it every day to make sure you haven’t missed anything small but important. Have you got your jewellery, pyjamas, hairbrush, toiletries, underwear, etc.? A week is plenty of time for you to remember those little things that may have originally slipped your mind.
