Tiffany Crosson-Smith from Tatty’s Original shares the inspiration from a styled shoot incorporating three different looks and bringing together local, independent wedding businesses

What was the inspiration behind the shoot?
The main goal of the shoot was to aid independent local suppliers to re-open their businesses following lockdown and lift spirits by joining together and supporting each other.
The inspiration was to host three different themed shoots on the same day to allow everyone to display variety in their products and show the ability of bespoke to cater for every style. We decided to go for a more traditional ‘Regal’ look, inspired by the on-site chapel (captured by Ray Tang of RT Focus Photography);

and a ‘Modern look just for fun to allow our creative sides to experiment and represent something new and fresh (captured by FStop Photography)

Tell us a little bit about the venue and why it was chosen
The venue was Riddlesworth Hall School which is a gorgeous prep school in Diss that has kept a lot of the original architecture and décor. They expressed an interest to me to open up to the wedding industry in the future. It is also a very vast space which allowed us to achieve our separate looks simultaneously without crowding into one space. They had the beautiful chapel on site which hosted our regal, more conservative bridal look. The main house with stunning antique décor was a fantastic backdrop for our modern bridal look as it contrasted so dramatically, it really made our colours and styles stand out. And a beautiful woodland which made a perfect setting for our boho wedding with the green trees and fields contrasting perfectly with the burgundy colour scheme.

What did you choose for the flower arrangements?

The regal bride had a very simple white bouquet to reflect the clean, crisp style of this theme, as she had some large statement pieces of jewellery we wanted to keep this arrangement very simple.

The boho bride had a large bouquet featuring a lot of greens and earthy tones to reflect the natural, woodland setting.

The modern bride had a fun. Colourful bouquet of orange and yellow to match the yellow ochre of the bridesmaid. The bridesmaid then had a more simple white bouquet to match the colours of the bride.

What kind of look did you want to achieve with the make-up, hair and outfits for the bride and groom?
The looks are split into our three themes:

The regal look was based on a traditional bridal style. A more conservative, satin dress with sleeves was inspired by the beautiful chapel on site. We wanted to keep the theme really clean and crisp and paired it with a blue and grey colour scheme. The mother of the bride wore a stunning petrol grey beaded gown to show an alternative to a skirt suit which made her feel a lot more stylish and feminine. The make-up for the women reflected this with subtle grey make-up and white highlights to keep the look fresh and clean. We also had a flower girl dressed in a simple white, cotton and tulle dress. The groom wore a very traditional navy blue suit.

The Boho look followed some of the current trends with curled hair, flower crowns and long flowing dresses. The brides gown was inspired by the woodland setting and had 3D floral lace to reflect this. The bridesmaid also had a floral pattern in her dress in a gorgeous burgundy colour which complimented the green of the woodland. We styled these looks with gold accents included in their make-up and décor. The groom wore an earthy brown suit to strengthen the ties to the forest inspiration.

The Modern look was a play on what we, as designers think will be coming into fashion. The bride wore a two-piece high-low dress with very little added detail to keep the look simple and modern. Her make-up was very playful to pick up the colours of the groom and bridesmaid to bring the three looks together. The groom wore a grey suit, which was reflected in the make-up and accent colours of the theme. The bridesmaid wore a yellow ochre jumpsuit, a beautifully modern equivalent to a dress which is much more comfortable and practical for the duties of a bridesmaid on the wedding day.

Tell us about the décor?
The majority of the décor for the day was provided naturally by the venue in its beautiful architecture and furniture. The boho theme was set in the woods and allowed us to play a lot more with décor and styling. We used wicker furniture to keep the strong links to the woodland theme as wicker is a natural wood material. Ornate rugs and throws carried the burgundy colouring through the décor along with gold accents in candle holders and trinkets that was reflected in the make-up.

What kind of accessories were used to create these looks and why?
Our beautiful accessories were created by NU Jewellery by Emma which allowed me as the dress designer to sit down with her and design pieces together to perfectly match each of the dresses created for the shoot.

A beaded crown was created for the regal theme to bring the whole look together and highlight the ‘regal’ look. This was paired by intricate beaded jewellery to match. The mother of the bride had beaded jewellery made from the same beads on her dress to compliment the look and was also designed to fit the neckline of the dress beautifully.

The boho theme had a flower crown for the bride and a floral hair vine for the bridesmaid to fit our woodland theme.

The modern bride had some fantastically modern, beaded hooped earrings with matching necklace and bracelet. She also wore hair jewellery to add some sparkle to her look as the simple dress allowed us to add detail in her accessories without going over the top. The bridesmaid had some custom made grey jewellery to tie in the colours of the groom.
