Bridal couples looking for a room with a view can now say ‘I do’ at a prestigious Newcastle venue
Baltic Gateshead, on the south bank of the River Tyne, is offering three of its most impressive spaces for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Top of the list is its rooftop restaurant Six, which is famous for its panoramic views of Tyneside and its iconic Tyne Bridge.
Six can hold wedding breakfasts for up to 120 guests, while its viewing box, which overlooks the river, is an ideal setting for smaller ceremonies and canapés receptions. Other options include BALTIC’s largest event space, Level 1, which gives wedding parties of up to 180 people exclusive use of a whole floor of the gallery along with a 54-seat cinema and dressing room, and River Terrace on the venue’s ground mezzanine floor.
Its full-length picture windows fill the room with natural light, and at night the sparkling lights of the Newcastle Quayside and the dramatic arch of the Gateshead Millennium Bridge make an impressive backdrop for up to 250 guests for drinks and dancing.
Weddings at Baltic are managed by North East event and catering specialist Fresh Element, which provides a bespoke service to ensure no two celebrations are the same. They can advise on everything from photographers and florists to entertainers and food menus. Director of Fresh Element, Pete Hunt, said: “While our food style is modern British, our talented chefs are happy to create bespoke menus drawing inspiration from global cuisines, or based on a specific theme.
“For those looking for an interesting alternative to the traditional three course meal, we also offer extensive barbecue, buffet and canapé options. We take pride in providing a highly personalised service for each couple and along with great food you can enjoy a fantastic view of the city on your special day.”
