The Courthouse Hotel in Knutsford, Cheshire, is now available for civil ceremonies
One of Knutsford’s most iconic buildings, The Courthouse Hotel, has announced it is now licensed to hold civil ceremonies. With a capacity of 400 guests in the Court Room and 100 guests in the Moneypenny Suite, it is the perfect venue for formal occasions.
The restoration of The Courthouse Hotel, which was built in 1818 and designed by architect George Moneypenny, began 18 months ago with Flat Cap Hotels converting the historic building into a hotel using the original architectural features of the Grade II listed Sessions building. Its refurbishment reflects the history and grandeur style of the original structure.
The Courthouse is ideally located in close proximity to three churches; St John’s Church, Knutsford Methodist Church, and Brook Street Chapel. For those planning activities prior to their wedding day, the venue offers afternoon tea hen parties, and its Rooftop Gardens will soon be available for private parties. The Rooftop Gardens, which have a 100 person capacity cocktail and champagne bar, will be filled with botanical herbs, a chef’s garden, and seasonal flowers.
Furthermore, by the end of 2017 there will be 10 luxury bedrooms available within the wings of the building, with a further 40 bedrooms being added to the rear of the site in 2018.
