Wedding planner Hayxanair Hernández of Nayas Event tells us about the couple's big day which took place in March 2020:

Where, when and how have they met?

Couple went to middle school together and dated in high school. They went their seperate ways before getting back in touch in college and they have been together eve since.

Was there any special wedding proposal?

Sean proposed to Cristina in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, in June 2018 on the beach. He asked for her parents' blessing all in Spanish and he’s still learning Spanish so that was very special.

How did they choose the place to get married?

Both agreed they wanted a destination wedding so we began searching for venues. He had more of a beach wedding in mind, Cristina didn’t love the idea but also didn’t know how to describe her vision. Once she saw pictures of Hacienda Siesta Alegre, she knew it was the place. They booked it without visiting it in person, but they felt confident about it. When the couple visited it a year prior to the wedding, they were both blown away and were very happy we took the chance.

Did the couple have any special request for their wedding?

They had a bilingual ceremony since the bride's family is Mexican.

How did you come up with the concept of this wedding?

The reason why the bride fell in love with the venue was because it was gorgeous on its own. She had friends getting married at venues that took a lot of decor and flowers to make it come to life. When she saw pictures, it met her expectations with the romantic rustic element she was looking for.

How did this wedding change your career as a wedding planner?

The wedding was traditional but really sentimental. First look with the father and bridesmaids was so special and significant for me.

Were there any challenges for this wedding?

Everyone was so sweet and calm. It was our last wedding before Puerto Rico was locked down due to the covid. This wedding is really special to me.
