After examining almost 500 entries, hen and stag experts Red 7 have named Stephanie Osbourne from Wilmington, Dartford, Britain’s Best Bridesmaid 2019. Red7 has rewarded her with a luxury spa weekend for two.

Bride Becky Symonds nominated Stephanie for staying by her side on a day that was very difficult for the bridesmaid’s family. Becky says: “On my wedding day, Steffi’s dad had his first session of chemotherapy. Steffi was still the strong, happy woman we all know and love. She chose to stand by me on one of the most difficult days of her life.”

Stephanie’s family even joined the wedding celebrations after John had completed his chemotherapy session. Becky says: “Steffi also helped my elderly relatives on my wedding day, especially one who has Parkinson's, and acted as a mediator between difficult family members.”

Stephanie’s dad John has since passed away and Becky has given her place on the winner’s spa weekend to Stephanie’s mum, Tracey. Beckys says: “She equally deserves to be pampered. She's like a second mum to me.” Tracey and Stephanie will enjoy a two night stay at London’s Courthouse Hotel including a meal at Sagardi in Shoreditch.

Happily, since the wedding both Stephanie and Becky have found out they are both pregnant.

Sarah Chapman, head of hen and stag at Red7, says: “Stephanie and Becky’s story stood out for our judges because it showed that they share a bond strong enough to overcome tragedy. Even on one of the worst days of her life, Stephanie was able to shine as a bridesmaid and give her bestie one of the best days of her life. That’s the kind of friendship we all want – someone who will truly go above and beyond for us, no matter what.”

Laura Thompson was named Scotland’s Best Bridesmaid and Jo Miller was named Wales' winner. Emmah Young won for the North West and Emma Reed won the North East title. Midland’s Best Bridesmaid went to Sarah Cross and Gabrielle George won for the South West.
