With the outlook remaining bleak for the nation as the UK is put under lockdown and the public told to stay at home for at least three weeks, the Coronavirus outbreak has been an upsetting and challenging time for many.
This has had serious consequences for the weddings industry, with ceremonies banned by the Government until further notice and couples cancelling honeymoons and postponing stag and hen parties indefinitely.
Wedding suppliers are struggling as they lose business and currently it remains to be seen when normality will resume. Yet the weddings community stands united, with acts of support and solidarity during this global crisis.
To raise a smile even further, we share the news of five couples who got engaged amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and their stories will undoubtedly lift your spirits.
A two-day engagement
Alabama couple Sarah and Tad McFall got married just two days after their engagement as they didn't want Coronavirus to delay their wedding. They got engaged on Thursday 19th March when Tad asked the all-important question at Highpoint Climbing Gym in Huntsville - where the couple had their first date, and were wed the following Saturday.
They married in a neighbour's garden and the bride wore her mum's wedding dress, with friends and family members pitching in to deliver all the essentials such as the cake, flowers and photography. Read the full story.

This couple got engaged at the Tonbridge Iceland store in Kent. While he had planned to pop the question in the country of Iceland, the couple's holiday got cancelled, so he settled for the next best thing...
