What was the theme of your day?
The theme we went for was subtle elegance and we had a blush pink and white colour scheme.
What venue did you choose and why?
We chose the Beaulieu Hotel as we wanted something that resembles ‘us’. We met in the New Forest and we were both brought up in the area – so we wanted to keep it close and meaningful.
Tell us about the dress
I found my dress at Romsey Bridal. I knew what I wanted before I even went there because I knew what style of dress I wanted. The first dress I picked up and tried on was the dress – I didn’t even try any others on after that, I knew it was the one. The best thing about it was that when we went back to pick up the groomsmen’s and ushers' suits, I asked Luke to pick one dress out of a particular area of dresses that he thought I might wear, and he picked out the one I’d chosen! I had to pretend it wasn’t the one – that's how well he knows me!
Tell us about the floral arrangements
The flowers were really important to me because I absolutely love flowers. We went for roses – something quite romantic to fit the elegance of the theme. We also had a stunning flower wall, as we wanted something pretty to fit our theme.
Tell us about the cake
Our cake was three tiers in soft pink and white. The cakemaker also made our cupcakes, popcakes and wedding favours – she also went above and beyond and helped set up the tables to perfection.
How did you feel walking down the aisle?
People always say it’s the best moment of your life, but I can honestly say it truly, truly was. I had so many different emotions going around in my tummy – happiness, excitement – it literally was unreal.
What was your most memorable moment?
Taking ten minutes out in the forest for just myself and Luke to take it all in.
What was the most important investment for you?
The most important and best decision we made was finding the most amazing, talented photographer. A year on and we are still in contact because she has become our friend. She has captured the most beautiful and stunning photographs we will ever have. We look back at what she has done and I remember every single moment like a video. She is truly remarkable.
