Cheshire’s leading wedding venue Peckforton Castle is in the spotlight next week as the location chosen by Hollyoaks for the highly anticipated episodes that see the character Texas Longford (Bianca Hendrickse-Spendlove) fall to her death on her wedding day.

It’s the culmination of a storyline that has gripped soap fans for weeks with wheelchair bound Will weaving a web of lies and deceit in an attempt to make Texas his wife.

The stunning medieval style Castle set in the heart of Tarporley was the perfect choice of location to film the grand wedding of two of the show’s main characters and co-incidentally Peckforton Castle is just a short distance from Chester, where the fictional soap is set.

Managing Director of Peckforton Castle, Chris Naylor is relieved that he’s never had to deal with a wedding quite so dramatic as the one shot by Hollyoaks and thoroughly enjoyed watching the cast at work:

“When Hollyoaks approached us about being the location for their soap wedding we were happy to help. They were looking for a fairytale venue which would contrast the nightmare action that was to unfold onscreen for Texas. We are used to hosting a range of weddings at the Castle from premiership footballers to a Star Wars themed wedding that included storm trooper guests!

Chris reveals: “All our team will be tuned into Hollyoaks next week to find out who murdered Texas as even we were kept in the dark as to who pushed her out of our castle window!”

Originally the home of Lord Tollmache and built in the 19th Century Peckforton carries out around 200 weddings a year and has previously been featured in a TV series of Robin Hood and Coronation Street’s 50th anniversary DVD ‘A Knight’s Tale.

Hollyoaks kicks off their wedding build up on Channel 4 on May 6th at 6.30pm–until then here’s a sneak preview of the trailer featuring Peckforton Castle.
