Like most girls, I had imagined my wedding a million times and always hoped when I married my venue would be Sefton Park Palm House. I also knew I wanted a vintage theme and Bride magazine soon became my bible, with pages turned and highlighted.
I wanted vintage crockery for our wedding breakfast. I tried to find a company in the north who I could hire it from, but couldn’t find one with a collection ornate or delicate enough. I bought it in charity shops and auctions and, since getting married I have started my own crockery hire business, ‘My Vintage Crockery’.
Although Matt wanted a low key affair I talked him into having a black Landau carriage with four black Friesian horses to take us between venues and we also booked a vintage 3.8 silver Jaguar for Matt and his best man, Toby.
On the day, I felt calm and excited trying to absorb what was going to be one of the biggest days of our lives.
As more and more people began to arrive I started to feel nervous and kept asking ‘what time is it?’ I just wanted to get my dress on! I met my dad on the stairs and before we knew it we were in the carriage and waving to friends as we left for the church.
Standing at the church entrance I could see some of our friends and I remember a big wave of love as I stepped in through the door. I took a big breath and walked down the aisle to Matt. We both just loved the ceremony. It was beautiful and so personal, most definitely the best part of the day for me.
Before we knew it, we were back in the carriage on the way to the Palm House. The wedding breakfast was relaxed as we had Paul Pashley singing swing through to the speeches which went down a treat. Will from True story Wedding Films captured our truly amazing day.
Later our band, ‘Madhen Productions’ came on with our first song, ‘I Gotta Feeling’ by Black Eyed Peas. The entertainment was brilliant from beginning to end and we danced the whole night through.
